Isaacs' cat has just had kittens. They are three weeks old. We were very fortunate to have them come and visit our class. They were cute, fluffy and tiny. They were very scared and we all made sure that we looked after them carefully.

We all had fun retelling the story of 'Rata and his Canoe.' This story links in with our topic studies this term where we are looking at what we can do to care for our environment and wildlife. This carries on nicely from the term three unit and our trip to 'Halswell Quarry.'

At the end of the term Lauren did a WONDERFUL PRESENTATION about 'Milking Cows.' This was one of her goals which we set together at the beginning of term three. She certainly did a lot of research and took some great pictures on her grandparents farm. We all loved hearing about what she had learnt and Mrs Warren was amazed at what she had done!

Halswell Quarry Trip

What a wonderful, sunny day we had at Halswell Quarry last Wednesday. It was great learning outside in the park, especially having Park Rangers to teach us about the environment. Our activities were...

• Take a blinded folded friend on a tree walk and describe the tree
• Bug and insect hunt with a microscope
• Tree and insect game with our parents
• Puppets and story - learning about keeping the park clean
